Our Mission
Arabian Lights Dance Company, Inc. is a non profit (501c3) organization based out of Laurel, Delaware. Our mission is to educate and entertain and our focus is two-fold:
First , we are committed to providing all students studying Raqs Sharki (Middle Eastern Dance) with a forum to perform publicly, to express the majestic art they have come to adore. Our members benefit from the mentorship of more experienced dancers and are able to participate at a level equal to their growing skills.
Secondly, ALDC brings the art of Raqs Sharki to the public to enlighten people as to the nature and culture of a dance form and a performing art that is vastly misunderstood. We bring entertainment and education to areas that may not otherwise be exposed to this form of cultural diversity.
ALDC hopes to create a greater understanding and appreciation for the art and culture of Raqs Sharki through enjoyment, entertainment and the expression of a vast range of Middle Eastern Dance styles including Egyptian/Arabic, Spanish Fusion, Folkloric, Tribal Fusion and more.
