LEARN TO BELLY DANCE
Tired of the gym? Looking for a more interesting way to stay in shape or maybe just a new hobby? Belly dance is a fun, low impact physical activity that provides an aerobic workout, strengthens and tones your core muscle groups, and even promotes confidence and self expression.
Weekly belly dance classes are available at Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland. ALDC President, Luna, took her first belly dance class at the Civic Center and is proud to be sharing her love of dance with a whole new class of belly dancers.
Beginner Belly Dance with Luna
Next session: Thursdays, January 19 - March 8, 7-8pmWicomico Civic Center, Danang Room
$85.50 per person/per 8 wk session
Get out of the gym and dance to the beat of a different drum! Luna will teach you a brief history of belly dance and introduce basic belly dance movements and posture. You'll learn how to isolate your hips, ribs, arms and other muscle groups, and combine basic belly dance movements into fun dance combos. Twist, bump and shimmy your way through a short choreography to an Egyptian song!
What do I wear to class? Do I have to show my belly?
Please wear comfortable sneakers or dance shoes. Close fitting work-out or yoga attire is ideal, and ladies please wear a supportive bra/sports bra. You do not have to show your belly but please avoid oversized or baggy clothes; instructors need to be able to see that you are doing the moves correctly. For registration information, please call
